Today is the birthday of two very special people–one my grandson and one my great-niece. When I look back at my life, I can remember wondering what life would be like when I was old enough to be a grandma and/or a great aunt. Grandma came first, and I remember the day well when that special little girl was born.
How we prayed for her that God would develop her into a strong woman that would be used for His honor and glory. And she is strong, both in will and determination. Her achievements are wonderful, just this past week she has achieved the red/black belt in Taekwondo and a silver medal in academic decathalon. This afternoon she came in to show us her medal and announce that she and her brother are both going to state.
How God uses my grandchildren and my great nephews and nieces remains the object of a lot of my prayers. Life is a struggle for them with all the worldly things pulling and tugging at their lives to set them on the wrong path. Be sure you pray for your kids, grandkids, and all those in your extended families. They have the power to change the world for Christ if they submit to gentle teaching and guidance in the ways of the Lord. Be sure and point the way to a total trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. It is God’s promise to us that He will be faithful to us as we are faithful to Him.
